Fruit produces gases   that cause flowers to age   prematurely.   Watering: •  Water the plant and the soil in     the summer • Never water the plant & keep                   orchids drier in winter. Repot the Cattleya into a larger pot every two years. Use fine bark (pot soil) when the orchid has small leaves, and coarser bark when the orchid has larger leaves. It is important that you keep the plant growing vigorously, since only the new shoots produce flowers.
   • A light spot but avoid the full heat    of the sun.  • Fresh air, but avoid draughts.  Ideally the plants should be a bit     cooler at night.  The plant can be placed outside in      a shady spot after flowering if      necessary.  Watering:   • Water regularly, immerse the  plant     for ten minutes once a week.  Allow the plant to drain fully, avoid    excessive water in the pot.   Repot the plant in the spring when   it starts to grow.     Remove the pot whilst trying to     avoid damaging the roots as much as     possible.    Rinse the roots thoroughly. Place the     plant in a bigger pot and preferably     fill it with light orchid soil.

• Paphiopedilums are shade plants. • temperature for the variegated   species between 20 and 24 °C. • For the green-leaved species   temperature  between 17 and 22 °C. Orchids like & dislike : • All Paphiopedilums like airy pot soil. • Never place them in the full sun. • Cold nights (12 to 15 °C) in the spring   encourage the formation of buds. Watering: • Water once a week, slightly more    in the summer. • Preferably immerse in rain water for   about ten minutes.    Repot the Paphiopedilum every year.  Use a mix of fine bark & sphagnum  moss

Zygopetalum Care tips: Orchids like & dislike : • The plant can be placed outdoors in    the shade during the growing phase in    the summer. Watering: • Water the plant at least once a    week in the summer and winter. Allow the plant to drain fully, avoid    excessive water in the pot. Repot Zygopetalums every two years. Use fine bark mixt with sphagnum moss.
• The plant needs as much light as    possible, but no direct sunlight in    the summer. • The optimum temperature is    between 17 to 28 °C. Orchids like & dislike : • In the summer the Vanda can be   placed in the garden in the shade,   where it will need virtually no care.  Watering: • The plant need to be sprayed    regularly during the year and in    sunny dryperiod every day.
